Past Times
Besides the auctions, Waitaki Auction Rooms is home to Past Times — our shop of old things. Same rooms, same address: you can browse the aisles, pick something up, and take it home without waiting for the hammer to fall.
The shop is packed with antiques, collectables and curiosities: china and glass, furniture, toys and dolls, vintage clothing, books and papers, military memorabilia, and plenty of odd and wonderful pieces that do not fit neatly into a catalogue.
Gerry has spent a lifetime gathering interesting and rare things from Britain, Europe and further afield. As he put it when the shop first opened in Oamaru, each piece is living history. Stock changes as items sell and new finds come in, so every visit is a bit of a treasure hunt.
